It’s time to celebrate Vermont Cheese Week!

It’s time to celebrate Vermont Cheese Week!

From September 13–20, 2026, the entire state of Vermont transforms into a playground for cheese lovers during this weeklong, statewide celebration of Vermont’s most iconic, beloved, and creamy creation.

This year, the party runs a full week and then some, capping off with the return of the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival at Shelburne Farms, so pace yourself.

Whether you’re a hardcore cheese lover, a curious foodie, or just looking for an excuse to road trip through Vermont’s rolling Green Mountains, this festival offers more cheese than you can shake a sheep at.

This isn’t your average food fest. It’s a full-bodied, flavor-packed celebration of the people, animals, and land that make Vermont cheese so legendary.

Enjoy tastings, farm tours, exclusive dinners, pairings galore, and unforgettable experiences hosted by the state’s top cheesemakers and culinary creators.

A quick heads-up: some venues and towns are still listed as TBD on the official site, so check vtcheese.com/cheeseweek for the latest before you plan your route. And if you’re bringing your four-legged hiking buddy along for the road trip, confirm the dog policy with each host ahead of time. Outdoor farm events tend to be the most pup-friendly, but a quick call saves you an awkward moment at the gate.

And don’t forget to explore the Vermont Cheese Trail, where you can indulge in the creations of 30+ cheesemakers, discover farm stands, see cheese being made, and taste your way across the state.

The Vermont Cheese Council is a member-driven nonprofit organization that champions over 40 cheesemakers statewide. From tiny farmsteads to nationally celebrated producers, our members make the cheese, and we help them share it with the world.
