Tucked into the hills of Brookline, Vermont, Tanglebloom is a working flower farm designed for meditative moments and long exhales. And, for a few short weeks each May and June, the rows of peonies hit peak bloom, creating a landscape of abundant color and surreal beauty.

This year, instead of keeping that abundance at arm’s length, the farm is welcoming others to experience it with a series of thoughtfully curated events celebrating all there is to love about the peony.

“Peonies bloom for just a few weeks each year, and there’s something urgent and wonderful about that,” said Melissa Hessney Masters, founder of Tanglebloom. “This series is about inviting people into that moment — not just to see the flowers, but to actually be in them.”

These aren’t big festival-style events. They’re intentionally small and designed to feel personal, immersive, and rooted in place.

Three Ways to Step Into the Blooms

Field & Facial: A Botanical Experience

May 28 | 10 am – 5 pm

In partnership with Noel Herbals, this experience blends skincare and nature in the most Vermont way possible. Guests receive a 45-minute botanical facial surrounded by blooming peonies and wildflowers, followed by time to unwind in Tanglebloom’s Field Lounge, a pop-up outdoor space tucked right into the landscape.

Enjoy a floral beverage, a take-home bouquet, and even a peony flower essence created on-site. It’s part spa day, part garden immersion, and perfect for spring pampering.

Sessions are offered throughout the day by appointment, and at $150 per person, it’s very much a treat-yourself kind of experience.

Sauna + Stems

June 4 (6–8 pm) & June 5 (10 am–12 pm)

Step from a relaxing sauna experience into a field of flowers for an unforgettable sensory experience.

In collaboration with Brattleboro Sauna, guests spend 55 minutes relaxing in the wood-fired sauna before wandering the peony fields to pick stems to bring home. Each session includes a seasonal floral beverage crafted with ingredients from Halifax Hollow. Sessions are $95 per person, and preregistration is required.

Peony Pop-Up at The Humble Mug

June 11 | 6–7:30 pm

This final, beautiful event brings the peonies into town.

For one evening, The Humble Mug in Brattleboro will transform into a pop-up peony garden, where guests can hand-select stems and build their own bouquet to take home.

There will also be peony-inspired seasonal drinks made with flower syrup and locally baked pastries available for purchase. It’s designed as a drop-in experience, so you can linger as long as you like.

Tickets start at $75 if purchased early, and like the other events, space is limited.

A Short Season, On Purpose

Peony season is as short as it is sweet. It comes during the long, sweet days of early summer, puts on a show, and quietly exits.

Tanglebloom is inviting you to pause and enjoy the fleeting, extraordinary wonder of one of nature’s most beautiful creations.

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to slow down for an afternoon, this might be it.

Just don’t wait too long; like the blooms themselves, these spots won’t last. Visit Tanglebloom to learn more or register for an event.
