This holiday season, Northern Stage invites you to step into a world of enchantment as Disney’s Beauty and the Beast takes the stage in White River Junction.
Running from November 20, 2024, to January 1, 2025, this fresh adaptation of the classic tale is directed by Producing Artistic Director Carol Dunne and promises to charm audiences of all ages at the Byrne Theater in the Barrette Center for the Arts.
This season’s spectacular retelling of Beauty and the Beast invites audiences to experience a beloved story through a fresh, contemporary lens.
“This is a story about a young woman who likes to read and whose intelligence makes her somewhat of an outcast,” says Dunne. “She uses her brains and courage to heal wounds and bring people together. It’s beautiful, and a privilege to rethink through a more contemporary lens. I can’t wait to share this timeless musical with families across the region.”
Bringing Belle and the Beast to life are Riley Noland and Peter Neureuther, joined by a cast of Broadway veterans and Northern Stage favorites, including Tim Rogan as Gaston and Anthony Wayne as Lumiere.
A talented creative team, including Music Director Jarred Lee and Choreographer Kyle Brand, rounds out the production, creating an immersive experience for the audience.
Special Experiences for Families and Theater Lovers
Northern Stage’s commitment to community engagement is highlighted with several special events surrounding the show.
In partnership with the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF), Northern Stage presents “Belle’s Book Nook,” a cozy book-filled space in the Roesch Lobby. Over 200 children’s books are featured for guests of all ages to enjoy before the show and during intermission.
The theater will also host a book drive to benefit children’s literacy programs across the Upper Valley.
Back by popular demand, Northern Stage is teaming up with rePlay Arts to present a Winter Arts and Crafts Day on December 14. Kids and families can immerse themselves in holiday-themed crafts before the 2 PM matinee and during intermission.
This collaboration offers a memorable way for young theatergoers to engage in the world of the story and explore their creativity.
Northern Stage is committed to accessibility, offering a Relaxed Matinee on December 7 at noon. This performance is tailored for audience members who may benefit from a modified sensory environment.
